The Wander Door Alarm is a simple and easy answer to your situation.  It is extremely easy to install and uninstall.  Simply hook it up when the individual goes down for a nap or to bed at night and the Wander Alarm will do your work for you. 

The alarm unit is secured on the wall next to the door with hook and loop fasteners, which are provided.  The switch that looks like thin, flexible tweezers is inserted between the door and the door jam. When the door is opened, the tweezer like arms separate, activating the alarm.
