and no one
finding you for hours! You will have the Sure Alert Audible Alarm
attached to your walker or cane and all you have to
do is press a button to sound an alarm. Anyone hearing the alarm will come
to your aid.
For caregivers or others who worry about their loved ones, the Sure Alert
will give you a large measure of comfort knowing
that an alarm can be sounded so easily.
The button or tilt-activated audible alarm! The Sure Alert® audible alarm device is designed to attach to an ambulatory car
aid such as a walker, wheelchair or cane.
A loud (85 decibel) built-in alarm activates when the
walker, wheelchair or cane is tilted approximately 30 degrees, OR by pressing
either one of the two, easily accessible, red, manual push buttons. The
alarm is a loud, pulsating signal.
The tilt-activation feature initiates the alarm upon tilting of the
ambulatory device. This could occur as a result of the user falling along
with the ambulatory device or due to the ambulatory device falling over by
itself. There is an approximately 10 second delay in the activation of the
tilt alarm to allow the user to pick up the unit if it should accidentally fall
and the user is in control.
One of the manual push buttons is located on the base of
the unit. The other is attached to a removable extension cord, which
allows you to position the second button any where desired for an easy reach.
A slide switch allows the user to turn off the
tilt-activation feature. This can be used when storing the ambulatory
device, traveling in a vehicle, dining, or whenever it becomes necessary to lay
the ambulatory device down.
Even when the slide switch is in the "off" position, the
alarm may still be manually activated by pressing either of the two buttons.
A red LED light located at the top of the unit will
indicate that the battery power is low. The unit is always under power as
soon as the batteries are installed.
The main unit of the Sure Alert is 5.5" x 1.25" x 1.5."
And additional small mounting for the second red button is just about 1 inch
square. The second button is attached to the main unit via a coiled cord
so that you can place it anywhere that is convenient and easily reachable.
The unit and button mount are attached to your walker,
wheelchair or cane via flexible rubber straps that will fit a wide range of
varying sizes and shapes. Batteries included.
