Incontinence
Incontinence
Male and Female Urinary incontinence is the involuntary excretion of urine from one's body. It is often temporary, and it almost always results from an underlying medical condition.

External
Urinary Collection Systems
An external catheter urine collection
system includes an external catheter, a urine collection reservoir, and a
urine collection tube. It includes a connector for connecting to the urine
collection tube to direct urine from the catheter to the collection tube.

Urinary Leg Bags A leg bag is designed
for use with external or internal catheters. The bags can be secured to your
leg either with hook and loop style fasteners or small belts, a stretchy
sleeve, or you can use a urinary collection system such as Better Pant to
hold your leg bag in place more comfortably.
Leg Bags come in a variety of sizes (amount of
liquid they will hold). They are available in either reusable or
disposable styles. Leg bags also have a variety of "ports" which is
the mechanism used to empty the leg bag. Some ports might be easier to
use than others in the case of an individual with Arthritis, but it is
purely a matter of choice. |

Catheters
An internal urinary catheter is a plastic tube which is
either inserted through a patient's urinary tract into their bladder or
attached to a male's penis. A condom catheter, which fits on the outside of
the penis using adhesive or an outer strip which can be tightened, can be
used for short-term catheterization in males.

Clamps and
Pouches These are two different types
of products and in the case of one of our products both of these are
combined into one.
Pouches are
disposable, cone shaped, collection pads which are undetectable under
clothing. The pouches are designed to manage light to moderate urinary
incontinence.
Clamps are
placed and closed onto the penis. The padded closure gently presses
down on the urethra to control urinary flow. |
|
Pads, Liners, Guards and Disposable Briefs
There are pads, liners, guards and
disposable briefs to meet any need or situation. Some pads are
washable and reusable while most are disposable.
These products are selected based upon the level of incontinence - from
light (leaking and dribbling) to heavy (no bladder control). |
|
Reusable Incontinence Briefs
and Under ShortsThe
most comfortable and the most economical products for incontinence are the
reusable briefs and shorts.
Undetectable under clothing, some
have built in padding and others have a "pocket" which holds either a
reusable pad or a disposable pad. If additional absorption is needed,
just add another pad on top of the existing built in pad. |

Urinary incontinence means that you can't always control
when you urinate. As a result, you wet your clothes. Some women leak when they
cough or sneeze; some when they laugh. Do you sometimes need to go to the
bathroom so badly that you're not sure you're going to make it there in time -
and sometimes you don't? Often the fear of wetting and/or the potential
odor prevents women from enjoying life and social activities. If any of
the above situations sound like you, you are not alone; approximately 12
million adults in the US have urinary incontinence. It is most common
in women over 50 but can also affect younger people, especially women who
have just given birth. |

Male and female urinary incontinence can be dealt with using a pad, liner or other guard inside the briefs or panties to collect the urine.

Protecting your chairs, couches and beds from urinary incontinence accidents can be accomplished with the aid of chair and bed pads which come in a variety of styles, colors and sizes depending upon the need.
